Learning Circle: Mindfulness and Wellbeing will focus on the fundamental practices, principles, an concepts of mindfulness as it relates to our lives. In this program we will learn about and discuss effective measures to combat the effects of stress on our sense of well-being and how meditation or other mindfulness practices can improve our quality of life. Although this program builds on concepts found in our previous Learning Circle, Foundations of Mindfulness, you do not need to have taken that course to participate meaningfully in the discussion. Any components of the module that rely upon prior knowledge will be explained in advance.
The content for this Learning Circle is supplied through Coursera, an online personal learning platform that takes subject experts from a variety of fields and has them facilitate content. Coursera is an entirely free-to-use platform, and the instructor for this course, Dr. Slator of Rice University, is highly qualified.
This program will meet for five weeks beginning Thursday, July 1st, for 90 minutes from 3:30-5:00PM via Zoom.
