Description

Tech Titans 50+ is a free technology training program provided by Charlotte Mecklenburg Library and community partners including: AARP, Senior Planet, and the Center for Digital Equity. This program provides a welcoming learning environment for older adults to support each other as they develop new technology skills. Programs are geared toward ages 50+.

This 5-week course meets twice per week and covers the essentials of how to use the basic functions of a personal computer, how to navigate the internet, and how to send and receive email. By the end of the course, you’ll have a foundation for using a computer and the internet to enrich your life. A computer will be provided for use during each class session.

Prerequisites:
A Gmail address. This course is best suited for people who have had some experience using the internet on any device. If you need help setting up a Gmail address, please call the Senior Planet hotline: 888-713-3495.

Course Schedule

The course begins on Monday, September 9th, at 10am and will meet twice per week on Mondays & Wednesdays at 10am.

  • Week 1: Getting to Know Your Computer & Mouse
  • Week 2: Getting to Know Windows & the Keyboard
  • Week 3: Welcome to the Internet
  • Week 4: Web Search & Google
  • Week 5: Using Email


This program will take place indoors at the North County Regional Library. Face coverings are strongly encouraged for both participants and staff. Indoor programs will include social distancing based on the library space.

NOTE:
