The Charlotte Observer’s award-winning team of visual journalists are out and about daily in Charlotte and across the region shooting photos and videos. Whether it’s the aftermath of a devastating storm, a great Panthers catch or a candlelight vigil, our photographers have just the right lens. Come see the Observer’s best photos of 2024 and hear these journalists talk about how they captured them and the art and science of visual journalism.

The Observer is also featuring a high school student photo contest. This is a link with details on how to enter.

This event will be held Tuesday, Jan. 21, at ImaginOn: The Joe and Joan Martin Center, 300 East 7th St in Charlotte. Light refreshments will be served in The Round on the 1st floor of ImaginOn and the presentation will take place in the Wells Fargo Theater. Doors will open at 5:45 p.m. for the reception and the program will begin promptly at 6:30pm.

The event is open to the public but an RSVP is required.
