Lita Judge has written this book at the level of third graders and given it luscious full page illustrations; that said, I would recommend it for everyone because of the historical and personally factual information it contains and the obvious lesson of relating to people in need and putting compassionate feelings into action. By exposing young children to such a historical book, maybe we can instill a love and appreciation in some youth for history. I want this one for my personal library!
