Well, if the DIA was meant to have anything to do with national security, it has been an abject failure from the beginning. Julie Sirrs, the intrepid and formidable DIA agent who brought home the goods on the Taliban and al Qaeda, with the help of anti-Taliban Northern Alliance leader, Ahmad Shah Massoud [who would be murdered by al Qaeda suicide bombers on 9/09/01], was rewarded by having her security clearance withdrawn and hounded out of the DIA! But maybe the DIA was never about national security, as it originated from within Eisenhower's administration? Their top positions always appear to be filled with members of the super-rich, a Mellon family member, a Starr family member, et cetera?

The fellow writes most interesly about the DIA, post 9/11. So what occurred prior to and on 9/11/01? Julie Sirrs, when she was an analyst with the DIA, traveled to Afghanistan and Pakistan and returned to the DIA with a warning of an impending terrorist attack, and evidence - - from the Northern Alliance head, Ahmad Shah Massoud, that Unocal and the CIA were financing and arming the Taliban/al Qaeda. The DIA took her information and revoked her security clearance, forcing her out of the DIA. On the morning of 9/11/01, Flight 77 crashed dead center into the Pentagon's west wall, where the DIA's auditing team were then convened, killing almost all of them and severely injuring the rest. That DIA audit team had just uncovered missing DoD funds to the tune of $2.3 trillion. Many, many things wrong at the DIA, both before and since.
