Out of the many novels that I have read, 'Crap' was by far the funniest. In her highly amusing novel, Erin Conley has shown readers how to effectively deal with and eventually let go of frustrating or difficult situations in life. Along with the helpful advice, hilarious (yet still helpful) quotes were added to keep the reader's interest throughout the book. These quotes were often on the subject of dealing with troublesome situations, however there were also the unexpected tidbits of information about actual human waste. These surprises only added to the continued hilarity throughout the novel. Erin Conley did an excellent job combining her advice with comedy, making the novel enjoyable all the way through. I especially enjoyed reading the inventive quotes chosen for the book. Both the helpful and comedic ones were interesting to read and effectively kept my attention throughout the novel. There is nothing that could have been improved about this book, it was everything that I originally thought it would be. I would recommend ‘Crap’ to teens and young adults that would like to read something a bit different, that both contains and element of humor as well as some helpful advice. Although the novel is more geared towards young adults, the advice given can be applied to many aspects of life and can be used by any age. Overall, ‘Crap’ was a very entertaining read.
