New York Times Notable author Deborah Crombie is regularly named among the greats of British-set crime fiction (P.D. James, Ruth Rendell, Elizabeth George et al) for her riveting police procedurals featuring Duncan Kincaid and Gemma James, Scotland Yard partners as well as devoted life-mates.

A brilliantly conceived and executed, deeply atmospheric mystery, No Mark Upon Her embroils Kincaid and James in the case of the puzzling drowning of a rower, a Met detective, on the Thames. A finely-hued and twisting tale of psychological suspense--a story rich in deadly secrets, salacious lies, and unexpected betrayals--No Mark Upon Her is everything Crombie's fans have come to expect from this exceptional writer...and more.

"Crombie keeps this series on its toes with her smooth procedural techniques and engagingly eccentric characters."

As the mother of 2 rowers, I found the setting most interesting and the terminologies very precise. I love all of Crombie's Kincaid/Jones books and her writing has improved with each successive book. I'm surprised no BBC bright star hasn't latched onto these to make a tv series of these books because, if done well, they would be a huge hit (provided the tv series stuck literally to the books)

This series is always a solid read. You don't have to read them in order to enjoy the mysteries but you'll get so much more out of it if you know the back stories of all the returning characters as their lives continue to change & evolve.

I love this series!! Kincaid and Jones make a great couple I like their thinking processes.

To me, this is one of the best of the series; one reason is that I particularly like the setting. It was well plotted and the subplots didn't get in the way of the main story. All in all an enjoyaboe read.

Another great book in the Ducan Kincaid, Gemma James series! I highly recommend the series.

This is an excellent series, but one that needs to be read in order to understand the changes in relationships.
