Easy to read - enjoyable!

It is the third book in his Walk series, and it is just as good (or better) than the first two. Alan Christoffersen is travelling across America, still grieving the sudden loss of his wife, and it is, of course, all about the journey he takes and the people he meets along the way. It is about hope, forgiveness, redemption, and grace. There were so many noteworthy points in this novel that I couldn’t stop myself from reading, and rereading the book several times. I felt I learned something new each time! This is certainly a book I would recommend. (submitted by library customer MA)

Agree with all the readers who loved this book and the whole series. Once started you cannot stop. Beautifully written . Brought me to tears many times but also full of beautiful memories of my beloved husband that I relived throughout the series.

In this book Alan learns about forgiveness as he meets up with his wife's missing mother and he learns more about her story and how this effected his relationship with his wife. Great series filled with so many wonderful characters and lessons learned as he walks across the country.

Loved this entire series and it has inspired another idea on my bucket list. Not to walk across America, but to intentionally visit a group of towns in an area very slowly when I retire.

This is a fabulous book. I picked it up knowing nothing about the author or the walk series. I am hooked! I just put holds on all of his books (all highly rated!) and explored the walk series. I love his writing style. So easy to feel a part of the story. An easy and enjoyable read as well as a page turner.

Excellent story that tells about the interesting historical sites and tourist spots on his walk across America. Develops very complex characters and delves into tough topics in life. Easy read. We even get to meet a Holocaust survivor, his mother-in-law asking for forgiveness and other kind strangers.

Beautifull written. Can't wait for the conclusion as I love the way he writes.

Alan Christoffersen, a widower and ex advertising agent sets out on a cross-country walk from Seattle to Key West to try to forget his losses( his wife , business and home). His fascinating journey is one of hardship, meeting diverse people such as a women who follows him for one hundred miles ( in heels!) and an old man who helps him out and tells him an unforgettable story of being in a prisoner of war camp and many other interesting people in all the different walks of life. The old Polish man teaches Alan how to forgive. “To forgive is to unlock the cage of another’s folly to set ourselves free” (from Alan Christofferson’s diary), This is the third book in Evans’ series titled “The Walk” and is an inspiring journey. Take it with him and you will remember it forever. Available in large print at BPL. Reviewed by SF
