I don't know if this was at a conscious level or not, but it seems like all the boys of color in the group of seven people are not particularly attractive while the white guys are. It's starting to get on my nerves, and how come the girls (except Hazel) all have daggers while all the boys have swords?

This book is great! The fourth book in the Heroes of Olympus series, this book fails to disappoint, even when compared to its prequels. As the author switches back and forth between the demigods on the Argo II and the twosome in Tartarus, it kept me thinking: "what's next? Do Percy and Annabeth even make it out of Tartarus?" Until the last moment when it happens. All the cliffhangers added to the suspense and thrill of this story. Loved it.

Ohmygods my heart can't take the pain.

My babies were in pain. Why why whywhywhywhywhy I needed my babies taken out of hell.
Finally they were.
It was horrible and beautiful all at once.
Wow. This books is a masterpiece.
Alright, as always, I'm not going through the book and reviewing simply because RICK WRITES TOO MUCH.

I'll say what's floating around my mind right now.

First of all: My Percabeth was beautiful as ever.
MOMENT TO APPRECIATE: It takes Percy about five and a half years to discover that Riptide could also be used as a pen. And even then it wasn't Percy, it was Annabeth. <3

Second: REYNA IS QUEEN. 'nuff said.

Third: Percy's journey in Tartarus, having all of his previous battles brought against him-- it was horrifying. It scared me a whole lot more than having Percy's Dark Side showing did. This was horrifying. Annabeth thinking that Percy abandoned her--- I can't.

Fourth: Bob says hello.

And I'm officially dead from an attack of the feels.

In this fourth instalment in the 'The Heroes of Olympus' series, Percy and Annabeth attempt to find a way out of Tartarus. With no food, water, or shelter from monsters, it becomes increasingly difficult. Their strength is waning and their hope is dying. Will they reach the Doors of Death in time, or will they perish in the Pit of Darkness?

This book was horrible. Percy and Annabeth are exploring the underworld ONCE AGAIN. Same old villains, same old storyline, same old characters. I thought heroes of olympus would be new and exciting and this is what I get. Riordan should have stopped with Percy Jackson book 5. This is incredibly disappointing.

The House of Hades was a great book and is the 2nd to last book of the series. I liked it because it tells about how Percy and Annabeth go through Tartarus and open the Doors of Death. I would give this book five stars. -Won, age 11

“The House of Hades” is the fourth novel of the “Heroes of Olympus” series. After the cliffhanger from “The Mark of Athena”, it was worth reading. Unlike the first three books of this series, Rick Riordan didn’t make every single chapter action packed. He added some slow chapters where you could get a deeper connection to the characters. Speaking of the characters, the character development was much stronger in this book. You could visualize the way Rick Riordan described them in his writing. Take Leo for instance. He matured tremendously in this novel. The plot was so amazing that I could barely get myself to put down the book. The Greek and Roman mythology had a fun twist to “The House of Hades” and it’s also very informative. “The House of Hades” was a wonderful and epic novel. I would highly recommend reading this book. 5/5 stars.

Still, my one true pairing may be Percabeth. That probably won't change for a bit, seeing that this book is so awesome. Let's just say that a regular person would go on a date in a location that nice and laid-back. Except here, Percy and Annabeth aren't just regular people. If you have read the books before you would know that here, they happen to choose the absolute nicest of all billions of places to have an adventurous date. Just being sarcastic here, sorry about that. But if you really want a calmer read, then why are you even reading Rick Riordan's stuff? 5/5 Stars.

The last we heard from our favourite demigods, Percy and Annabeth had tumbled into Tartarus and the rest of the demigods promised to open the Doors of Death from the other side. The House of Hades is one of the most action packed books in this five book series, and completely acceptable since things were toned down in the Mark of Athena. There is a lot to appreciate and comprehend in this book and the travails that Annabeth and Percy must face are immense and catch your breath at every word. But although we have these two classic characters in the main light and focus, the other characters play an important role to move the story along and because of all the action you never feel like there is ‘fluff’ or unnecessary details. I have to applaud Rick Riordan for this one because it was the book from the series that really stayed with me afterwards when I thought about all the interconnections between the characters. A great story, I would definitely recommend that anyone read it whether or not you have read the previous books.

Caution: this book will get you addicted! Where is the wanted poster for Rick Riordan, the villain that caused the lack of sleep to children and teens? I stayed up until three in the morning because this book is too good. No joke. Don’t get me started on how I keep on flipping to the part where Leo’s pants keep on falling down! Percy and Annabeth have been cast down to Tartarus leaving the rest dealing with monsters. The good thing? Nico is saved. The bad thing? Nico scares everyone aboard Argo II. Yes, fans, more drama! Seriously, myths suddenly turned into something more after I read this book. Why can’t History textbooks be like this?

"Use the catapults!" cried the coach.
"P.S.," Hazel read, "Don't even think about using your catapults."
"Curse it!" Said the coach. "This guy is good."

"Annabeth?" Percy said again. "You're planning something. You've got that I'm-planning-something look."
"I don't have an I'm-planning-something look."
"Yeah, you totally do. Your eyebrows knit and your lips press together and-"
"Do you have a pen?" She asked him.
"You're kidding, right?" He brought out Riptide.
"Yes, but can you actually write with it?"
"I-I don't know," he admitted. "Never tried."

"Yeah, you bet Romani." Percy bared his forearm and showed them the brand he'd gotten at Camp Jupiter - the SPQR mark, with the trident of Neptune. "You mix Greek and Roman, and you know what you get? You get BAM!"
