I don't care what she wears, a brown paper bag would be fine. This is a voice we'll never hear singing again except recordings. I'll take anything from Ms. R. After seeing the CNN special production in the big screen theatre I love her voice and outlook even more.
mmmm, doesn't she look yummy in the cover foto. that girl could certainly wear a top well. in person, however, while drinking in a dive bar in frisco, she could be offputting (stared balefully at me from the other end of the bar). bar did not have any ronstadt on their jukebox. maybe that would have bugged her also. she was one big frown. 'sallright, 'sallright./ i wasn't there to hit on her, anyway. there must have been a grapevine in the music industry as to where to drink. stood and drank shoulder to shoulder with many entertainment industry professionals. by the way, it would be difficult to out sing this woman in a duet. one of the best pop-sopranos, ever. see also warren zevon for a continuation of my reminiscences of this location, a moment in time, that will never be again. bill macy, ed guthmann, gerry rafferty, star wars director, and jonathan richman and dave matthews, too! how about macy's wife only being sentenced to two weeks for her college admissions crime. / still hard to beat macy's facial expression in the classic film, BOOGIE NIGHTS, for his close-up consequent to seeing himself cuckolded in Burt Reynold's house, during a cocaine party./..... not to forget the replacement drummer for the Who......
VERY GOOD comp of 15 duets featuring Linda Ronstadt with excellent partners, including Frank Sinatra. Excellent production of an interesting variety of tune flavors.
On this CD of 12 tracks, Linda Ronstadt sings duets with such recording artists as - Dolly Parton, Don Henley, and James Taylor, to name but a few.
I was surprised at how good this album is. Most of the duets work well with the voices blending together to create a rich, full delivery that a listener will appreciate. Ronstadt's voice was in full command of the songs and strong through out.
Oh yes!!! Give us more of Linda Ronstadt singing duets with James Taylor, Frank Sinatra, James Ingram, Dolly Parton and Emmylou Harris. Unfortunately, Linda is no longer performing due to illness, but she leaves a great set of duets for us to enjoy! As a side note, as of 6/3/2014 there are 30 holds on 20 copies of this CD. That speaks very well to the reception this CD has created. Congratulations Linda on a truly memorable set of music!
