A decent movie, very good cast... the decision to cut to the backstories throughout the fight made you fully vested in both boxers by the end of the movie, with the unfortunate side-effect of sucking some of the energy out of the fight. A little cheesy at the end, but it worked for what was essentially a relationship movie more than a boxing flick.

Nice movie, sort of a gritty version of Rocky.......sort of. The detailing of the events leading up to the fight, while interesting and creatively interjected, take away from the flow of the fight and therefore, the flow of the movie. All-in-all, not a bad film to watch, but it seems like it could have been better. Great cast and well acted.

Not a bad movie, but far from a great one. Some of the acting was good but the story had just too many underlying themes going on. James Caan was very good in his role. Even though Kim Coates looked more like a drug dealer than a priest, he was pretty convincing in that role.
