In this book the main character is Pearl. Pearl is a young mermaid girl who is adventurous, brave, pretty, and smart. She takes a dangerous trip to a sunken ship. While she is in the ship she gets stuck. She screams for help, but her friends abandon her. Will she ever get out?
One day at Trident Academy the teacher said that they were going to do a story telling project. So, she let the class pick out a book from the library. One boy found a book about pirates. It had a map to a treasure. Pearl said she was going to find the treasure tomorrow after school. When she got home she asked her father about the treasure. He said ghosts were guarding it. The next day after school Pearl started on the journey to the old sunken ship. Her friend Rocky yelled for her, "I'm coming too!" She stopped and turned around. "OK," she said. They started to go but her other friends started yelling too. They did not want her to go. But a girl named Wanda wanted to go too.
They finally got to the ship, but they heard ghost-like sounds and Pearl's friends swam off and hid behind rocks. She yelled, "You scared cat!" She said they would be able to get rubies and diamonds, so they came out. They were about to go in until they heard the sound again. Pearl's friends hid, so she went in herself.
I think this is a great, adventurous book. It is fun to read. It is a great book, and I think you should read it.
