what a delight to read. I couldn't put the novel down and read it all within 1 1/2 days. I have read all the books in the series, but it has been several years in between. It was a surprise and delight to have the familiar characters return into this newest story. The family in focus has suffered many losses and with it came many secrets. As they slowly unfold the reader is given more and more layers of depth to the characters who came alive in the story.

In the most recent Lakeshore chronicles entry, Susan Wiggs captivates audiences once again. Alice Bellamy's son, Mason, reluctantly decides to help care for his mother for a summer after she suffers a horrific accident – the same accident that killed her husband. With both Mason and Alice nursing hidden wounds, Faith McCallum's arrival comes just in time to mend not only their hearts, but her own. With a story bound to capture a reader's heart as well as their imagination, Starlight on Willow Lake is a moving reminder of the power of forgiveness, the difficulty of acceptance, and the importance of love. Although it is not necessary to read the prior Lakeshore Chronicles books, it does help you get to know the side characters a little better. Overall, this book is perhaps my favorite in the series – maybe even my favorite of Wiggs' books! Practice makes perfect, and Susan Wiggs has almost reached perfection in this heartbreaking and heartwarming novel.

I didn’t realize this book was part of a series. It read like a stand-alone book. An enjoyable, heartwarming story. Will read more from this author!

I liked this book, despite the clichés. The children are delightful and I wish they had more to do and say in the story. However, it was an interesting story.

This is another chapter of the Lakeshore Chronicles that carries on the tradition of great characters and interesting stories. Have enjoyed all the previous books in this series and she does not disappoint with this newest story. She always takes you away to Avalon and Willow Lake and the people who live there. Can't wait for the next book and the continuation of the life at Willow Lake. If you have not tried these yet please do and be carried away to this setting and the people who live there.
