3 women, 3 eras - one a small mention in historical text; one who brings her ideas of a 'proper woman' to an isolated logging town, attempting to instill them in her daughters; one, who is a daughter, trying to make sense of her own life, her mother's and Ana's as she searches for the meaning of her own life. the daughter Annie circles the lives of her mother Ina and historic Ana, trying to read between the lines as these 3 lives are inseparably entwined in this story.
