From The Royal Opera House

Rate this:
This staging of Handel's Acis and Galatea - a classical story of pastoral love overshadowed by menace and despoiled by violence - unites the Royal Opera and the Royal Ballet under the direction of multi-award-winning choreographer Wayne McGregor. McGregor deftly fuses music and movement as Danielle de Niese sings and Lauren Cuthbertson and Mara Galeazzi dance the role of Galatea; Charles Workman sings and Rupert Pennefather and Edward Watson dance the role of Acis; and Matthew Rose sings and Eric Underwood dances the role of Polyphemus. Christopher Hogwood conducts the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment.
