The First Australians had been living in Tasmania for more than 35,000 years when the white men arrived, yet it didn't take long to all but eradicate the island's nine tribal groups. In an effort to protect real estate prices, the British decided to transfer the dwindling Aboriginal population to Flinders Island. Focusing on an Indigenous woman named Truganini and Chief Protector of Aborigines George Augustus Robinson, this documentary addresses the dispersal of the Tasmanians - a move that further devastated the tribes. Overseeing the relocation was Robinson, working in a complicated alliance with Truganini. With historian Gordon Briscoe (Maraduntjara Nation), author Bruce Pascoe (Boonwurrung heritage), Darlene Mansell (Tasmanian Aboriginal), and others.
