Musical Youth formed in 1979 at Duddeston Manor School, Birmingham, England. This live concert captures the pop/reggae-influenced group in its prime. Featuring two sets of brothers, Kelvin and Michael Grant, plus Junior and Patrick Waite, this family collective of pre-teen British stars lit up the pop charts in the 1980s with the infectious candy-coated pop song "Pass the Dutchie." The massive 1982 hit was the first of their addictive songs to capture the public's imagination. It propelled their record to Number 1 in the UK music singles chart, and went on to sell over four million copies. "Pass the Dutchie" was also nominated for a Grammy Award, and charted in the US Top 10. "Youth of Today," "Never Gonna Give You Up," "007," and "Tell Me Why?" were also big international hits. This fascinating and entertaining program features these incredible musicians live in concert! (98 minutes)
