Lesbian storyteller Ivan E. Coyote's first book for queer youth includes brand new stories and others culled from previous collections, inspired by the tragic increase in the number of teen suicides resulting from bullying. Funny, inspiring, and full of heart, these stories are about embracing and celebrating difference and feeling comfortable in one's own skin, no matter what the circumstance.

Two fabulous Vancouver butches introduced me to Ivan Coyote's work years ago. They taught me about living w/ grace, compassion, and kindness. My heart thumped as I read these stories, remembering our high school years. When I finished Tomboy Survival Guide, I immediately downloaded this ebook b/c the storytelling was so compelling, I didn't want it to be done. There is some overlap between these two books, but I didn't mind a bit.

I just finished the book and I found some small parts intresting but most of it was all the same. I feel like the authour could have done more with all the good ideas they had. However, I did like the message that everyone is equal.

This is a truely amazing book. Not only is it incredably inspirational, but its also hilarious. I loved the style of writing and everything about it.

The main character tells stories about their past throughout the novel. It is not a bad book, however it is not the style that I prefer.

I loved how Ivan increased my social awareness to gender sensitivity in a friendly comedic way that almost anyone can relate to.

I really enjoy Ivan stories, but was disappointed because so many in this book had been previously published in earlier collections.
