Another wonderful historical fiction novel from Edward Marston. This time Colbeck and Leeming are pushed to their limits with at least two, possibly three crimes to solve. Who hates the circus enough to derail the train? Or was it a disgruntled former railroad employee out for revenge? And why was there a dead women found near the incident? If you enjoy well researched historical fiction--this is one for you!

pg 261 Colbeck asked the final question like an assassin quietly sliding the knife between the ribs of his victim.
