Not a comedy. Not funny. It would be tragic had it any depth. Another wasted 90 minutes. Insulting. Why are these people doing this to us? They must think us extremely stupid. Hayek totally wasted. Ashamed of her. Tragic.

Ridiculous movie - a total waste of time and DVD plastic - I finally pulled it out of my dvd player after 30 minutes of struggling to find some redemption for it.

They took several tried and true story line plots that could have been naturally developed and made powerful social awareness statements and instead made each one a ridiculous cartoon caricature of a messed up society. They over-played the 'snob' class - made them both irrationally pretentious yet disgustingly vulgar, they over-played the race/class tensions by making Beatriz unbelievably socially clueless and stupid yet at the same time tried to portray her as new-age sophisticate - They could have used the Drama Triangle/aka Karpman Triangle to develop a delicious victim/persecutor/rescuer drama - but instead they made all the characters hateable and repulsive.

Sooooo disappointing!

For a supposedly “sharply funny comedy” I did not laugh once. This is a dark and sad story, culminating in suicide. It left me with a sick feeling, sorry I wasted my time on it. Not one redeeming thing I can think of.

There is NO comedy in this movie. Surprized that Salma Hayek would be interested in putting her name on this movie. Almost didn't watch all the way thru but was a short movie so did my ironing at the same time. Don't waste your time.

On the outside package for this movie ...I read funny or entertaining ... I wouldn't classify it as either . It's definitely thought provoking ... not sure what the "message" was or is...
I was angry at first with the ending ... not wanting to say much more ... except... maybe this is some kind of wake-up call to those of us who feel we are healers ...? not sure ... interested in other opinions...

the smiles on the dvd cover are really in the movie but they are smiles of discomfort, disconnection, dissonance - not smiles of humour.
the dark ending seems to tell us that the ruinous environmental manipulators are winning and the healers are losing.
dark comedy? satire? allegory? Hayek and Lithgow and both good, but it is bleak.
when you have strong reactions to other's crazy-making behaviour does that make you the crazy one???

the parts about the hotel and golf course in Mexico reminded me of the doc A Dangerous Game about land developer Trump.

Dark movie......not at all what the description on cover said. Give it a pass - depressing.

The cover misled me. I thought it was going to be a comedy about the clash of the classes. It was just a diatribe. The upper class were unredeemingly bad and the heroine was either angry or inscrutable.
The only question it left me with was: How did they get such big names involved in this vanity piece?

I enjoyed this movie - good contrast between vapid and someone in touch with their life - in the end there isn't any answer - people go on -
