Great, great book! All the twists and turns in this book will have you reading for hours. Very sweet, funny, and emotionally satisfying.

I found this book rather interesting, especially the writing style. However, at some points, the book got a bit dull and uninteresting; i honestly liked Criss Cross better.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book with its quirky collection of offbeat yet somehow completely realistic characters. I love that Del - the man who helps Ry on his journey to find his missing family - is lovable but fallible and that Ry recognizes this. I love that a theme of the book is that even what seems impossible can be possible if we just...do it.

I really, really liked this book!

This was the crazy story of a few weeks in Ry's life. Originally, Ry is going to a summer camp on a train. When the train makes an emergency stop due to a maintenance issue, Ry steps off to make a phone call. Moments later, the train drives away! Ry is still in the desert! OMG!

The rest of the book is made up of his trek to get back to home, to find his missing grandpa, and to find his untraceable parents. The situations seem sort of unrealistic, but it was super fun to live vicariously through his spontaneous and crazy adventure. He met some wonderful people along the way and it gave you some hope in humanity.

I definitely recommend this book to everyone! There were lots of twists and turns, it was super fun to read, and it was VERY well-written!

Lynn Rae Perkins quest to write a picaresque novel has ended successfully. Loopy, sweet, bizarre and moving, It is worth getting lost in this book.

Ry starts an unbelievable journey to find his mom and dad that are vacationing on a island. He rides trains, boats, airplanes, and cars ina madcap tale. Great characters care free.

Maybe the more people you put in your family, the better. Like a diversified investment portfolio.

"Wooly coils of silvery-white hair forested the back and sides of his head, thinning to a zone of barren scrub at the tree line of the shiny dome of his head. His mustache was waxed in to handlebars. He was comfortably rounded, like a small planet, with an atmosphere made up of warmth and good humor and aftershave."
