I truly enjoyed the novel (finished it in a day!). The story and writing style is unique, and keeps you guessing till the end. Make sure to keep track of the chapter titles and the POV to stay on top of the plot line. If you want to avoid getting sucked into a long series, this series is perfect for you.

Why did I read the sequel when I didn't like the writing style of the first book? There was a cliff hanger and an interesting premise, and the first book was a quick read. This one was also a quick read.

Unfortunately, it continued with the annoying "two narrators, both speaking in first person" nonsense. If you want more than one narrator, use third person.

On the plus side, each sister's half of the story was told chronologically this time so the time jumps weren't quite as illogical as in the first book.

On the minus side, each sister's half of the story is told at a different pace so you're still jumping back and forward in time for no apparent reason.

About three quarters of the way into the book, the tension had built nicely and I felt like I was finally going to get a good payoff. This set up has *so* much potential.

Then I got to the end. So anticlimactic. I wanted this to be a much bigger story than it was. It was selling itself as a much bigger story than it was. It was a serious let down.

Different from what I thought it would be. Didn't understand some of it. A little like sci-fi
