Predictable storyline. An average touchy-feely-overcome adversity film. Not bad, not great. It was a mindless watch and better than expected.

The story just didn't hold up, they need better writers, but there are some great actors, sets costumes. It fills an evening

This movie was entertaining. I didn't find it very funny. A miss for Melissa, I think. Not a great storyline.

I wish this had been a better movie. Melissa McCarthy is such a funny actress and the concept of a mom going back to college with her daughter had a lot of potential. There were a few good bits and good lines here and there, but most of it was just meh. The romance with the much younger student was creepy and cringy. The scene where she vandalizes her ex-husband's wedding reception was not funny and in real life she would have been arrested. This is an OK movie to watch if you just want something mildly amusing and not very challenging, but it was frustrating that it clearly had the potential to be so much better and yet it was just mediocre.

This movie could have been a very tired story but Melissa McCarthy made me laugh out loud many times! The actress who plays her daughter was a little bit uninspired but the sorority best friends nail it! I would watch this alone or with your adult girlfriends!

A beautiful movie that shows education can be achieved by anyone at any age, and you can have a whole lot of fun while achieving it!

So for those of you lucky who didn't attend college when your kids were college age, or have husband walk out on you just when you thought it was time for a second honeymoon, let me just say this is not as much of a fantasy as you think. (My graduate school office was entirely populated by such women.) I'm just thrilled to see McCarthy in a movie with dialogue. Yes actual sentences instead of string of curse words! She even tells her daughter to watch her language. This movie provides equal amounts of cringing and laughs.

I love Melissa but this movie is a dud. None of what happens makes any sense and it's not very funny.

Melissa McCarthy tries her best to lift a tired story about a wife and mother who goes back to finish her college degree after her husband dumps her for someone else. It must be a small world because mom ends up at the same university as her daughter, making them both seniors. '80s pop culture references are glittered throughout the film, but the jokes don't land and McCarthy (a fine comedic actress) can't carry the stale film by herself. McCarthy at her best is 'Bridesmaids'; her worst is 'Tammy', and this film falls dangerously close into 'Tammy' territory.
