An enjoyable sequel that doesn't quite have the "heart" of the first movie, but was enjoyable nonetheless. In that sense, it's very similar to how Rocky II (and all following Rocky movies) were enjoyable but didn't have the heart of the original. 80's movie nerds may particularly enjoy this movie because it feels more like a sequel to Rocky 4 than a sequel to Creed. It wasn't as over the top and campy as Rocky 4, but at the time that film was made it probably didn't seem so either.

While boxing is losing its popularity because of the violence and resulting head trauma, the franchise of underdog boxer is still going strong after 42 years: Rocky (1976) through Rocky V (1990), Rocky Balboa (2006), Creed (2015) and Creed II (2018) which brought back Stallone and Lundgren from 1985 Rocky IV to watch over a fight between Michael Jordan (Adonis Johnson Creed) and 6′ 4″ giant Florian Munteanu (Viktor Drago).

Don't miss the Special feature with extensive footage of the very young Stallone and Lundgren in earlier Rocky films: The Rocky Legacy - Hosted by Dolph Lundgren, Michael B. Jordan, Sylvester Stallone, Tessa Thompson and others, sit down and reminisce about the enduring resonance of Rocky and its evolution in Creed II..
