The dark premise really brings out the characters and their true sides, as well as the underlying situation, but the book was watered down by its excessive detailing.

This book had a great story; however, the reader must stay tuned as there are dry moments. Some of the terminology in the book is very deep not all readers the will comprehend right away.

I loved this book! It just shows the beauty of life and how the grass is always greener on the other side once the obstacle is over.

I have just started this book and I think it is okay. Nothing better.

I just recently read this as a sophomore in school. It started out pretty dry, a woman complaining about her everyday life as a farmer's wife, but as the world around Rukmani begins to change, she has to gain the ability to deal with hardships as she watches her kids die practically one after another. The author uses outstanding tone and word choice to portray exactly how a character feels.
