Gal Garner who has suffered from kidney disease almost all her life has become a serious grower / developer of roses. Although the title alludes to the fact of roses having thorns - that beauty often comes with pain attached - I think Gal may have more thorns than her roses. I enjoyed the developing relationship with her niece and the fact that the author does not resort of an "everything is rosy" ending. recommend Kristi & Abby Tabby
