Your Brain at Work

Strategies for Overcoming Distraction, Regaining Focus, and Working Smarter All Day Long

The kind of book worth reading again. Rock uses approachable metaphors and a basic overview of the functions of various regions of the brain to explain what professionals go through on a daily basis. He then provides solid strategies for overcoming issues and regaining productivity (reappraisal, labeling, prioritizing priorities, focusing on solutions instead of problems, etc). But perhaps his best advice is that forming new connections (neural and metaphorical) involves repetition. So to multi-task, internalize and automate one of the tasks you are working on so that you can focus appropriately on another task. And to retain the lessons of 'Your Brain at Work', read it again.
