This book was incredibly fun to read! That's it. There is no better way to describe the first Dog Man story. There is just so much to enjoy from it. Sure it might be a silly kids's book, but that's why I liked it to. It did not take itself seriously, and just tried to be a fun romp. The art style is neat too. People might say they are too simple, and they might be right, but the simplicity is what can make children so happy. Kids who seen this book might draw pictures the same way, and when they see how simple the art style is, it could encourage them that they draw perfectly, and should never doubt themselves or their drawing capabilities. However, the small nitpick I have for this story, is the plot hole on how dissecting Greg the dog's head, and putting it Officer Knight's body saves both cops from dying. Wouldn't that kill both characters on default? But this still is a kids book, so accuracy is not 100% needed. In other words, if you want to start reading the Dog Man series, the first one is the best one to start with, and not just because it's the first, but because it's one of the best! 4.8/5. @BooksRUs of the Hamilton Public Library Teen Review Board
