lol most of the comments on this board are pretty hilarious. This, of course, is worth a read if only for its historical significance, and its lasting effect on present-day discourse is hard to miss. All people should read this, if only to decide what they think. Marx should not be taken as a philosopher as much as a dialectic. His writing is a lens through which we can analyze, deconstruct- we can use him to make sense of things. Marx and Stalin had nothing to do with each other. Marx was the kind of thinker that comes around once every century or so, and an authoritarian murderer of a ruler who used socialism/communism as a means to ascend to power should not be conflated with this brilliant thinker. And whether you disagree with Marx or not (I often do), he is brilliant. There are tons of online resources that help to make sense of Marx, e.g. podcasts or youtube series. Most of what I've seen has been accurate and very helpful, especially anything David Harvey is involved in. If you're looking for an intro into Marx, give him a search.
