Community Read 2022 Titles

Community Read is the Library’s month-long effort to have the community read (or listen) to books of current and relevant topics and participate in discussions, book clubs and events held at Library locations as well as hosted by community partners. The signature title, "Tomorrow's Bread" by Anna Jean Mayhew, is set in Charlotte's very own Brooklyn neighborhood, a neighborhood destroyed by urban renewal. Adults and teens are encouraged to read and discuss the signature title, and the Library selected companion titles for all ages. including: "Windows" by Julia Denos (children), "The Blue House" by Phoebe Wahl (children), "The Epic Fail of Arturo Zamora" by Pablo Cartaya (preteens), "Take Back the Block" by Chrystal Giles, and "Pride" by Ibi Aanu Zoboi (teens).
